Background Dr. Helen I. Ajudeonu was born into the royal family of Ottah-Kingdom by prince Michael Kihodu onyeha Uwagbai of Ottah-Igbanke in orhionmwon local Government Area of Edo State Nigeria. Helen started her education career at Pilgrim Baptist now Osafiele primary school, Ottah-Igbanke where she obtained her first school leaving certificate in 1974. She proceeded to the prestigious Imaguero College Benin City in then Bendel State and obtained her teacher's grade two certificate in 1979. She sat and passed the general certificate in education and other examinations which gave her a sound background for higher education. In her quest for higher education, she got admitted into the college of education, Agbor, Bendel State in 1980, a college established by late prof. Ambrose Ali, the then Governor of Bendel State. She's one of the pioneer students of the College of Education, Agbor, graduated in 1983 and served the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 1983-1984 at the government girls secondary school Bauchi, Bauchi State. The quest and love for education propelled her to seek admission to Bendel State University now Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma, Edo State, where she began the Bachelor's degree B.A.Ed (Hons) in history education with a second class upper division. She went further to obtain her master's degree (M.Ed) in Educational Management and planning in 1997 and was awarded the doctors of philosophy of Educational Administration and policy studies in 2009, both degrees from Delta State University Abraka Delta State. She was a born teacher having taught in public primary and secondary schools before joining the service of College of Education, Agbor in 2013 now University of Delta, Agbor, Delta State. She served as the head of department of primary Education Department. she has served in many communities in the college and as an executive and member in local organising committees for academic conferences and seminars. She's a scholar and seasoued researcher who had to her credit many publication and articles in reputable International, National and local journals. Helen has passion for primary education as the foundation and bedrock of all levels of education. She was the last president and chairperson of women in Colleges of Education, Agbor Chapter treasurer in south-south zonal women in Colleges of Education till the transformation from a College of education to a University.The National Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) conterred on her WICE Fellow on 12th October, 2021 in recognition of her contribution to WICE, Humanity and Educational development for National Building and Societal Transformation in Nigeria. At the community level, she was the first woman in her community to organised an academic conference. She has served in different community development programs as executive officer at different times to date. She became a Deltan by her marriage to the late Evangelist Pius O. Ajudeonu who hails from Aliokpu-Agbor in Ikw South Local Government Area of Delta State. She is a lecturer in the Department of art and social science in the Faculty of Education University of Delta, Agbor, Delta State.
